What is EdgeBook?

EdgeBook is a trading journal that compares each trade with the plan you made before it. You write down your setups in the Playbook, plan your week, log your trades and review them.

EdgeBook then shows where your behaviour leaves your plan, and what that costs you. It looks at your decisions and your results separately, so you work on what you control.

Getting started

The five stages of the loop

Every trade moves through the same loop, drawn as a figure-eight: the trading loop on the left, the learning loop on the right.

  • Prepare: your Playbook and the Weekly Operating Plan.
  • Trade: the Tactical Center, logging the trade and the match against its setup.
  • Review: the Journal, the Daily Debrief and the Weekly Review.
  • Learn: Insights and ATLAS. Research Lab, with Replay and Backtesting, is coming.
  • Refine: Behavior Contracts and carrying the lesson into your next plan.

Logging the trade is only step 3. Most of the value comes from what happens after it.

Does EdgeBook place trades or give advice?

No. EdgeBook never sends orders to a broker and does not give investment advice. It is a journal and analysis tool for your own trading.

When EdgeBook shows a pattern, it describes your own past behaviour. It does not tell you what the market will do.

Playbook and setups

Playbook and setups

Required, supporting and invalidating conditions

A setup in the Playbook is made of conditions, and each condition has a role.

  • Required: must be true for the setup to exist, like "Asia low swept".
  • Supporting: adds context, like "H4 trend up". Supporting conditions never decide the verdict.
  • Invalidation: a reason not to take the trade, like "high-impact news within 30 minutes". A hard invalidation turns the trade into Outside. A warning-only invalidation is shown but does not decide.

What is a trigger?

The trigger is the exact moment your setup says to enter, for example "a 15-minute candle closes above structure". It belongs to how you enter, not to whether the setup exists.

If the setup is valid but you enter before the trigger, the trade is Modified. A setup without a trigger can still be traded Exact when every required condition is met.

Playbook and setups

When can I use a setup?

A setup needs at least one required condition before you can accept it and match trades against it. A setup where a required condition and a hard invalidation contradict each other is blocked too.

A blocked setup can still be saved as a Draft, so you can finish it later. Anything else that looks incomplete is shown as a warning and does not stop you.

Logging and matching

Logging and matching

What do exact, modified and outside mean?

When you log a trade against a setup, EdgeBook checks it once.

  • Exact: every required condition was met, no hard invalidation was active, and you followed the trigger (or the setup has none).
  • Modified: the setup was valid, but your trigger or execution deviated, for example entering before the trigger candle closed.
  • Outside: a required condition was missing, or a hard invalidation was already active.

The verdict comes from the conditions and the execution you report. Never from the profit or the loss.

Logging and matching

Why did my verdict not change after the trade won?

Because the verdict is about your decision, not the result. It is stored once, when you save the trade, together with the evidence behind it, and every screen reads that stored verdict.

A winning trade can be Outside, and a losing trade can be Exact. Keeping them apart is what lets you see whether you lost money on a good decision or made money on a bad one.

What is the Daily Debrief?

The Daily Debrief closes your trading day. Open Daily Debrief in the app (under Journal); today is shown first, and the arrows step to an earlier day.

  • The day in numbers: your trades, net R, P&L and how many were exact, modified or outside.
  • Your intention: the focus you set for the week, carried into the day.
  • Your notes and your Daily Thoughts: objective, thoughts, watchlist and pre-trading routine.
  • The day's trades: pair, session, setup, entry model, R and the stored verdict.

Coming: Debrief questions. The Debrief will ask about the trades that left your plan (the entry, the risk, the management) and about opportunities you did not take, and your answers will become evidence for Insights. Today the Debrief asks you nothing yet.

Insights and ATLAS

Insights and ATLAS

How does Insights pick my focus?

Insights reads your trades and how they matched your plan, with fixed, checkable rules. It says nothing about you before you have at least five trades.

It then shows one focus at a time, with the evidence underneath, so you work on the thing that matters most instead of ten things at once.

A fuller analysis, with confidence and a re-check after you change something, is coming.

Insights and ATLAS

Is ATLAS an AI?

Coming

No language model is involved today. Your findings come from Insights, which uses fixed, checkable rules on your own records and shows the evidence for each one.

ATLAS is the voice for those findings. It picks what matters now, brings it to you and asks the question. It adds no calculations of its own, never changes your records, and every sentence points to its evidence. ATLAS bringing findings to you, and asking ATLAS in plain language, are coming.

Insights and ATLAS

What are Behavior Contracts?

A Behavior Contract is one concrete commitment about how you trade, for a set number of trades, for example "at +2R, move the stop to +1R for the next 10 EURUSD London longs". EdgeBook tracks whether you keep it.

Soon contracts will always be proposed and only become active when you accept them.

Risk disclosure

Trading involves substantial risk of loss. Past results, including backtests and replays, do not predict future results. EdgeBook describes your own past behaviour; it is not a recommendation to trade.
