Every trade starts before the week does.

The Prepare stage is where you write down what you trade and plan the week around it. Everything EdgeBook judges later is judged against what you wrote here.

Example with illustrative data

One week through the Prepare stage

  1. Last week hands you one lesson. Your Weekly Review ends with what to Keep, Stop and Test. Soon, next week's plan starts there. Coming
  2. Write the setup down once. Required conditions, the trigger, what invalidates it and how you execute. Supporting conditions add context, never the verdict.
  3. Ready, or it tells you why not. A setup with no Required condition stays a draft, and trades are never matched against a draft. Coming
  4. One setup, not three copies of it. Before you accept it, EdgeBook compares it with your accepted setups and tells you when the structure is the same. Coming
  5. Then plan the week around it. Carry forward, intent, markets and guardrails: what deserves attention this week, and what you protect.
  6. One opportunity, ready before Monday. A scenario, a trigger, an invalidation and a timeframe, pointing to your setup. Start week keeps the plan as it was.
  7. The plan opens before the market does. The Tactical Center opens on this week: the guardrail, what you are testing, the opportunity you are watching.
Anatomy of a setup

Every condition has one job.

A setup in the Playbook is a list of conditions, and each one has a role. The role decides what the condition can do to a trade later.

Required

Must all be true for the setup to exist. One missing, and a trade is Outside, whatever it made.

Trigger

What separates "the setup is there" from "enter now". Going in before it is what makes a trade Modified.

Invalidation

What cancels the setup. Already active before entry, it makes the trade Outside.

Supporting

Context you like to see, such as the higher-timeframe trend. Recorded with the trade, never part of the verdict.

How you enter and manage the trade belongs to execution. It is stored with the setup, but it does not change which setup it is.

The Weekly Operating Plan

What deserves your attention this week.

Not what to enter now. What you are watching, what you are protecting and what you want to learn.

Carry forward

The plan will open with what last week's review handed on, so the week starts from evidence instead of a blank page. Coming

Intent, markets and guardrails

What matters most this week, which markets you trade, and the limits you protect: risk, process, session, news and exposure. Guardrails are yours for the week, separate from any setup.

Opportunities

Each one has a scenario, a trigger, an invalidation and a timeframe, and can point to a Playbook setup. EdgeBook shows how complete it is, from Early stage to Execution-ready, and Log trade opens with it filled in.

Start week

The plan is kept as you started it. A change after that needs a reason and is kept beside the original, so your review sees what you planned and what you changed.

Why preparing pays off later

Only what you wrote down can be checked.

The verdict needs a definition.

Exact, Modified and Outside only mean something against a setup you defined before the trade. Without one, a trade stays unclassified.

An unfinished setup stays a draft.

No Required condition, or a condition that is both Required and a hard invalidation: you can save it, but trades are never matched against it. Coming

One setup, not three copies.

Before you accept a setup, EdgeBook compares it with your accepted setups and tells you when it has the same structure. Coming

Change it later, keep your history.

When you refine a setup, past trades keep the verdict they got against the setup as it was then.
