The trade is decided before you click.

The Trade stage follows the moment that counts: what your plan said, what the market did, what you did, and the verdict EdgeBook keeps.

Example with illustrative data

One trade through the Trade stage

  1. 07:55. Your plan is already there. The Tactical Center opens on this week's plan: the focus, the setup you are watching, your guardrails.
  2. Your setup, as you wrote it. Required conditions, the trigger and what invalidates it. Supporting conditions add context, never the verdict.
  3. The conditions arrive one by one. 07:30 the Asia low is swept. 08:00 London opens. No high-impact news on the calendar.
  4. 08:42. You see it. Price is pressing structure. The trigger candle has not closed yet. Coming
  5. 08:44. You go in early. Entry 1.0846, stop 1.0829, target 1.0892. The trigger candle closes above structure at 09:00.
  6. You log it. EdgeBook checks it once. Against the setup you defined. Not against the result, which does not exist yet.
  7. +2.1R. Then back to zero. The setup had no rule for a winner, so nothing told you what to do with it.
  8. Modified, 0.0R. The verdict stays. The trade leaves the Trade stage with its verdict and its evidence. Review and Learn take it from here.
Matching

Three verdicts. Each one has a reason.

When you log a trade against a setup, EdgeBook checks it once, from the conditions and the execution you report. Never from the profit or the loss.

Exact

  • Every required condition met
  • No hard invalidation active
  • Trigger followed, or none defined

You traded the setup you wrote down.

Modified

  • Every required condition met
  • No hard invalidation active
  • Trigger or execution deviated

The setup was valid. How you took it was not the plan, like entering before the trigger candle closed.

Outside

  • A required condition missing
  • or a hard invalidation already active

This was not your setup. The trade may still win; the verdict does not change.

Not enough information to judge? The trade stays unclassified. EdgeBook never guesses.

Why you can trust the verdict

A verdict that does not move.

Checked once, when you save.

The verdict and the evidence behind it are stored with the trade. Every screen reads that stored verdict; nothing recalculates it later.

The outcome never decides.

A winner can be Outside. A loser can be Exact. Supporting conditions, like a higher-timeframe trend, add context but never decide either.

Change your setup, keep your history.

When you refine a setup, past trades keep the verdict they got against the setup as it was then.

Your plan is in front of you.

The Tactical Center opens on this week's plan: your focus, the setups you are watching and your guardrails, before the market opens.
